Morocco’s Tiznit-Dakhla Expressway Nears Completion, Key Section 80% Finished

The work on the Tan-Tan to Laâyoune section, included in the construction of the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway, is 80% complete.
Questioned about the progress of the construction site by Le360, Yassine Ansir, head of the engineering structures department in charge of this project, indicated that the work as a whole is progressing at a sustained pace.
"The road connecting Tan-Tan to Laâyoune over a distance of 220 km, which is part of the southern part of the project, has an overall progress rate of more than 80%," he specified, adding that the reinforcement and widening to 9 meters of the national road connecting Laâyoune to Dakhla over 500 kilometers, are fully completed.
Scheduled for this year, this road will be a "road infrastructure to international standards and with a high degree of safety" in the Saharan provinces, according to the Ministry of Equipment, which states that it will reduce travel time and facilitate the transport of goods not only to and from the cities of the South of the Kingdom, but also to sub-Saharan Africa.
