Morocco Tightens COVID-19 Restrictions, Imposes Nationwide Night Curfew

Moroccans will have to come to terms with it, those who thought the restrictive measures would be eased in some way at the end of the year. Not only have the measures been maintained, but others have been added.
The scientific and technical committee made recommendations on the need to strengthen the measures taken to fight the spread of Covid-19. The Moroccan government has therefore decided that from Wednesday, December 23, new restrictive measures will come into force.
This includes a curfew throughout the national territory from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., except in exceptional circumstances, the closure of restaurants, cafes, shops and large stores every day at 8 p.m. Similarly, parties and other celebrations, as well as gatherings, are prohibited. Restaurants in the cities of Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech and Rabat are being called upon to close their doors for three weeks.
These new provisions do not cancel the measures that had been taken. Moroccans are invited to strictly respect all the measures taken to fight the spread of Covid-19.
