Morocco’s Taza Wind Farm Launches, Boosting Renewable Energy Capacity

The authorities of the city of Taza have announced the commissioning of the first wind farm built as part of the country’s energy transition policy.
With a total capacity of 87 MW with 27 wind turbines and a 225/33 kV evaluation station, the first phase of this project will allow an annual saving of 200,000 tons of CO₂.
The project was launched in September 2020 by EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF-EN) and its Japanese partner Mitsui&Co. Wind Services was chosen by General Electric to provide heavy lifting, handling, assembly and specific installation services for the project. The company’s involvement and participation in this project began in September 2021 and lasted just over 6 months.
