Morocco to Take Control of Unfinished Angers Mosque After Association Vote

The members of the Association of Muslims of Angers (AMA) voted on Friday, September 25, for the transfer of the Abou-Bakr-Essedik mosque to the Moroccan Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs during an extraordinary general meeting.
Two resolutions were on the agenda: the free transfer of the mosque of Angers, whose construction work is at a standstill, to Morocco, and to allow the president of the AMA to carry out all the necessary and sufficient operations for the proper execution of the object, reports Ouest France. The first obtained 87 votes in favor, 4 against and 3 abstentions. The second was voted by 85 votes in favor, 4 against and 5 abstentions.
The publication of the video concerning the results of the vote on the AMA’s Facebook page was made in the presence of a bailiff. For the association, this is a first step. "May Allah facilitate the rest for us and may Allah let us work for the interest of the Muslim community and the interest of our city, Angers!", it wished.
With this vote, Morocco will be able to work to complete the construction of the Abou-Bakr-Essedik mosque in Angers. Launched in 2014, the construction work on the said mosque has been at a standstill for lack of funds.
