Morocco Suspends In-Person Classes, Shifts to Remote Learning Amid Health Concerns

The suspension of classes decided in Morocco in no way means the establishment of school holidays, according to the Moroccan government.
In a joint press release, the Ministries of the Interior, National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Health reminded students, trainees and parents, as well as all citizens, that this suspension of classes, which takes effect from Monday, March 16, 2020, should be seen as the cessation of face-to-face classes and their replacement by distance learning.
This suspension is part of the exceptional prevention measures aimed at protecting the health of students, trainees and all citizens.
They are also called upon to respect the rules of hygiene, to avoid handshakes, and not to come into contact with elderly people or those whose health is particularly fragile.
Furthermore, the government urges students and trainees to stay at home, not to travel and not to engage in recreational, sporting or any other activities. They are rather required to follow the courses that will be broadcast from Monday, March 16, 2020 through the electronic portal "TilmidTICE", or via the television channel, "Arrabia".
