Morocco Suspends Flights from France, Belgian Travelers on Alert

The decision to suspend flights taken by the Moroccan authorities concerning France is worrying some Belgian nationals and Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) currently on vacation in Morocco or planning to go there for the end-of-year holidays.
Since this decision, there is concern in Brussels, where MREs increasingly fear the chaos observed in 2020, according to local media. Some are afraid of not being able to make their end-of-year trips.
Faced with this uncertainty, the spokesperson for the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wouter Poels, reassured citizens, indicating that "air links remain assured for the moment with Belgium. We have no indication that similar measures concerning Belgium are to come. But the past has shown us that decisions are made in Morocco without notice."
However, the official called for caution, as he advanced, "Morocco is taking sovereign measures to preserve its health situation, like Belgium," to protect its territory, according to the evolution of the pandemic in the world.
