Morocco Suspends Diplomatic Ties with Germany Amid ’Deep Misunderstandings’
In a letter dated March 1 addressed to the Head of Government and other members of the government, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita requested the suspension of all contact with the German Embassy in Rabat. This decision comes "due to the deep misunderstandings with the Federal Republic of Germany on the fundamental issues of the Kingdom of Morocco."
"The ministerial departments and all the bodies under their supervision are requested to suspend any contact, interaction or cooperation action, in no case or in any form, both with the German Embassy in Morocco and with the German cooperation agencies and political foundations that are linked to it," the correspondence specifies.
According to the same document, any derogation from this suspension can only be made on the basis of an explicit prior agreement from his department, which has also suspended any contact or action with the German Embassy in Morocco.
