Morocco Surpasses 3.9 Million COVID-19 Vaccinations in National Campaign

The Ministry of Health indicated on Saturday, in its daily bulletin, that Morocco has already vaccinated 3,913,615 people for the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Regarding the second dose, a total of 578,942 people have received it.
Morocco has been conducting the national free vaccination campaign for more than a month with the aim of gradually vaccinating all citizens. The objective is to eliminate cases of contamination and deaths due to the pandemic, to contain the spread of the virus and, in the long run, to immunize at least 80% of the population.
For the moment, priority is given to frontline personnel such as public authorities, the armed forces, healthcare professionals, teachers and the elderly, or those with chronic diseases. It is only after having satisfied all these categories of people that the vaccination campaign will be extended to the rest of the population.
As of March 7, Morocco has recorded 249 new infections for a total of 486,223 confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 8,682 deaths and 472,240 recovered people.
