Morocco Surpasses 9 Million COVID-19 Vaccinations, Aims for 80% Population Coverage

In Morocco, a total of 9,072,565 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine since the start of the vaccination campaign launched at the end of January by the government.
According to the Ministry of Health, in its daily report, 5,840,597 people are fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd doses).
Launched on January 28, this campaign is a free operation for all citizens with the aim of immunizing 80% of the population, reducing and then eliminating cases of contamination and death due to the epidemic, and containing the spread of the virus.
Priority is given to frontline personnel, including public authorities, the armed forces, health professionals, teachers and the elderly, who are vulnerable to the virus, before extending it to the rest of the population.
The daily report on the epidemiological situation presents a table of 346 cases of infection with the new coronavirus and 360 recoveries in the last 24 hours, according to the ministry, which adds that the new infections bring the total number of confirmed cases since March 2020 to 520,769, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 508,570.
