Morocco Surpasses 6,000 COVID-19 Cases as Recovery Rate Reaches 42%

The toll of infections in Morocco is rising much faster. The kingdom crossed the bar of 6,000 confirmed cases this Sunday, May 10, after the recording of 128 new cases.
With these new figures, the total number of recoveries to date stands at 2,545, with 84 new remissions for a rate of 42.15%. As for the number of deaths, it stands at 188, i.e. +2, for a fatality rate of 3.11%.
In addition, 58,798 cases have been excluded after negative laboratory tests against 3,305 under treatment.
As for the new distribution map, the 128 new cases are concentrated in 6 regions. Rabat-Salé-Kénitra is in the lead with 549 cases (+47), followed by Fès-Meknès, with 847 cases (+35), Casablanca-Settat with 1,610 cases (+19), Marrakech-Safi with 1,189 cases (+13), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma with 887 cases (+13) and Béni Mellal-Khénifra with 105 cases (+1). The situation remains unchanged for Drâa-Tafilalet which has 559 cases, Oriental, 176; Souss-Massa, 67; Guelmim-Oued Noun, 43; Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, 4 and Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab, 2.
