Morocco Surpasses 4,000 COVID-19 Cases as Casablanca Region Leads Infections

Nearly two months after the first case was recorded, the kingdom has crossed the 4,000 mark for coronavirus (Covid-19) infections (4,047) after confirming 150 additional cases of infection this Sunday at 10 a.m.
To date, 20 new recoveries have also been recorded, for a total of 557, against 160 deaths. In addition, the number of cases excluded after negative analysis results carried out in the laboratory is 22,425.
As for the 4,047 infections, 1,058 cases were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region alone, or more than a quarter. It is closely followed by Marrakech-Safi (822), then Tanger Tetouan Al Hoceima (523), Fès-Meknès (515), Daraa-tafilalet (493), Rabat Salé Kenitra (304), Oriental (175), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (78), Souss-Massa (50), Guelmim Oued Noun (23), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (4), and Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab (2).
As in each press release, the authorities call on Moroccans to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety, as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism.
In addition, it should be noted that during this Ramadan period, a curfew from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. was decreed yesterday, Saturday, April 25, by the Ministry of the Interior. It is therefore no longer possible to go out at night except in very rare exceptions.
