Morocco Streamlines Port Arrivals for Returning Expatriates in Annual ’Marhaba’ Operation

The operation to welcome Moroccans Residing Abroad (MREs) is proceeding normally, particularly at the Port of Tangier-City. This year, several improvements made by the authorities have helped to streamline the flow.
Interviewed by a 2m channel team that went to Tangier, several MREs say they have noticed a clear improvement this year, especially in terms of the services provided and the fluidity of traffic.
"We pass through here, going and coming back, and we see that now there is really an improvement, whether in terms of the authorities, the fluidity of the passages; everything is really facilitated," says a traveler to the channel.
Since the start of the "Marhaba" Operation (June 15 to September 15), nearly 260,000 MREs, as well as 16,000 vehicles, have transited through the Port of Tangier-City. This season, an increase of nearly 15% in arrivals is expected compared to last year.
