Morocco Streamlines Land Registration Process to Boost Agricultural Development

The National Agency for Land Conservation, Cadastre and Cartography is working to simplify procedures in order to win the bet of collective registration.
The National Agency for Land Conservation, Cadastre and Cartography has shown quality work as part of the new Generation green 2020-2030 strategy in agriculture, reports L’Économiste. According to the same source, it has contributed to "strengthening land security, immunizing property and increasing economic and development value". It is a question of "multiplying efforts to increase the pace of registration in order to generalize it to the entire national territory".
It is now possible to obtain property certificates, electronic payment of services provided by the land conservation... Similarly, deadlines have been set for the various operations, with a limit on the number of late objections, the establishment of significant fines, in addition to the acceleration of publication in the Official Gazette.
Thus, the time between the filing of the application for registration without opposition and the issuance of a land title has been reduced to one year. Yet the average exceeded three years in the past. This reduction is one of the advantages of collective registration, compared to the ordinary procedure, which will be generalized to the rural world.
