Morocco to Streamline Repatriation Process for Expatriates with Digital Consular Services

The Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs has announced the upcoming implementation of new consular services for MREs, including the electronic issuance of authorizations for transporting remains to Morocco.
In response to an oral question on Tuesday at the House of Advisors, Nasser Bourita stated that the goal is to make these services accessible to MREs, specifying that these services "facilitate rapid interaction and make procedures more fluid."
The minister revealed that several electronic services are available at consulates, including notably the "econsulat" system, which represents the main platform for consular services, as well as the unified consular registry, implemented three years ago, which allows MREs to access services regardless of their place of residence.
The official also mentioned the "e-stamp" electronic stamp services and remote payment, while announcing the creation of a communication center operating 24 hours a day in seven languages, in addition to digital appointment management, as well as the "Chikaya," "Wathiqa," and "Izdiad" platforms.
