Morocco Stockpiles Chloroquine Drug for Potential COVID-19 Treatment

In the eyes of the Moroccan authorities, chloroquine could be a cure for the coronavirus. The Ministry of Health has purchased stocks of nivaquine, an antimalarial drug based on chloroquine, produced by the French group, Sanofi, in its Casablanca factories.
According to RFI, Sanofi Maroc has confirmed this purchase operation, which is accompanied by an additional order. But these stocks of nivaquine will be exported to sub-Saharan Africa where the coronavirus pandemic tends to rage.
On Wednesday, the Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Otmani, wrote on his Twitter account that Plaquenil can be used to treat all COVID-19 patients. Since tests have been carried out in France, there is a rush on Plaquenil stocks in pharmacies, a media outlet reports.
