Morocco Spends Over $230 Million on Government Vehicle Fleet in Two Years

In the space of two years, the Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani, has devoted no less than 2.33 billion dirhams to the management of the state’s vehicle fleet.
In addition to the 152,000 cars at the disposal of members and administrative officials within the Moroccan government, the latter has released about 330 million dirhams for the acquisition of a new fleet.
These figures were revealed by the director of the national company for transport and logistics before the Public Finance Control Commission, specifying that 160 million dirhams were spent in 2018 and 170 million dirhams the following year.
During his speech before the members of parliament, the director of the company, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Equipment and Transport, revealed that the budget allocated to fuel, between 2018 and 2019, is estimated at 2 billion dirhams, or an average of 1 billion dirhams per year.
