Morocco Signs Oil Exploration Deal with ConocoPhillips for Northern Region

Amina Benkhadra, Director General of ONHYM and Melissa Anne Coleman, Vice President of the oil company ConocoPhillips Morocco Ventures LTD, signed a reconnaissance contract for the onshore area called "MESORIF" located in northern Morocco during a videoconference meeting.
This 2-year hydrocarbon exploration contract focuses on carrying out geological and geophysical studies, as well as conducting a 2D seismic acquisition campaign that will be carried out in the second year.
With this signature, the ConocoPhillips company is entering a new stage of its existence in Morocco since the merger of the two entities Conoco Inc and Phillips Petroleum Company at the end of 2001. These two companies had separately undertaken exploration work in Morocco in the 1970s and 2000s.
