Morocco Shuts Down Premises of Banned Islamist Group Al Adl Wal Ihssane

Tensions between the authorities and Al Adl Wal Ihssane are rising again after the closure in several cities of premises belonging to members of this banned but tolerated Islamist association in Morocco.
These closures, which took place in several cities (Kénitra, Inezgane and Casablanca), were denounced on social networks by an official of this organization, who accuses the authorities of having broken into "houses belonging to its members". With photographic evidence, Al Adl Wal Ihssane denounces the "persecution" of the authorities.
Quoted by the website telquel.ma, an official explains that these closures follow complaints from neighbors. "This intervention by the authorities comes in response to complaints filed by neighbors who claimed that these meetings were a real nuisance, especially since they lasted until late at night."
Furthermore, the owners are also accused of organizing "periodic meetings in violation of the Dahir on public gatherings."
