Morocco Sets Deadline for Taxi Operators to Register Drivers or Face License Loss

In Morocco, taxi operators are required to declare the drivers and their assistants to the competent prefecture services before March 31, 2025, under penalty of losing their license.
Taxi operators of both categories who have not completed this formality before this strict deadline, in accordance with Article 3 of Circular No. 444 of the Ministry of the Interior, will suffer the rigor of the law and have their trust permit withdrawn.
The Ministry of the Interior had asked the governors and walis to carry out a comprehensive census of taxi drivers. In a circular on the regulation and organization of the conditions for operating taxi licenses, Minister Abdelouafi Laftit had emphasized the need to cancel unused trust permits and continue the process of generalizing this permit and the professional driver’s card.
In order to prevent registered professionals from concluding new operating contracts, the circular insisted on the creation of local registers for requests to operate taxi licenses by professionals, as well as the establishment of registration conditions and criteria.
