Morocco Set to Extend State of Health Emergency Amid Ongoing Pandemic Measures

The Council of Government could decide, at its session on Thursday, July 8, to extend the duration of the state of health emergency in Morocco. Several other files are on the agenda of this weekly meeting.
The Council will study three draft decrees during this session. The first is related to the extension of the duration of the state of health emergency in Morocco. The second deals with the principles and rules of organization and the powers of the State administrations. The third concerns the modification of the order on the distribution between the chambers of commerce, industry and services, the chambers of crafts, the maritime fishing chambers and their federations of 10% of the product of the professional tax.

The Council will also examine a bill creating the National Agency for Strategic Management of State Shareholdings and Monitoring of the Results of Public Institutions and Enterprises. It will also look at the Agreement signed on April 6, 2021 between the Moroccan and Colombian governments, and relating to air services.
Finally, the Council will proceed to validate the proposals for appointments to management positions, in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution.
