Morocco Set to Become Africa’s Second-Largest Wind Energy Producer by 2030

Morocco will become the second largest producer of wind energy in Africa by 2030. This is the result of an infographic published by an Information and Decision Support Center.
According to the information and decision support center affiliated with the Egyptian consulting firm, Egypt is expected to become the largest producer of wind energy in Africa by 2030, followed by Morocco and Algeria. As for China, it will remain the largest producer of wind energy and the leading developer of wind power capacity worldwide.
In a policy brief titled "The green hydrogen market: the industrial equation of the energy transition", the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) think tank had stated in January that Morocco is positioning itself as a global leader in renewable energies. To support its argument, it had emphasized that Morocco has carried out major solar and wind renewable energy projects, which have enabled it to position itself as a global leader in this sector.
