Morocco to Send Parliamentary Mission to Aid Women and Children in Syria, Iraq Conflict Zones

At the request of the deputy and leader of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Abdellatif Ouahbi, an information parliamentary mission will be set up in the coming days. It will travel to Iraq and Syria to inquire about the situation of Moroccan women and children trapped in conflict zones.
This mission will be carried out with the assistance of the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, the Moroccan Red Crescent and the International Red Cross, reports Al Massae.
According to the PAM deputy, the objective of the mission is to visit Moroccan prisoners in Syria and Iraq and assess the situation of Moroccan women and their children in refugee camps.
Abdellatif Ouahbi is said to have asked the President of the Justice, Legislation and Human Rights Committee within the House of Representatives to allow the parliamentary mission to study the modalities for the repatriation of Moroccans stranded in Syria and Iraq, indicates the same source.
For his part, Abdelaziz El Bekkali, an official within the National Coordination of Moroccan Prisoners or Stranded in Syria and Iraq, stated that the families of these Moroccans are counting a lot on this parliamentary initiative.
