Morocco to Send First Official Delegation to Israel Since Normalization Deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that an official Moroccan delegation will visit Israel next week. A visit that is part of the steps to normalize diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In a video message posted on his Twitter account, Mr. Netanyahu said it had been agreed that a Moroccan delegation would visit Israel during his historic telephone conversation with King Mohammed VI. According to the Israeli Prime Minister, several issues, including the opening of diplomatic mission offices and direct air traffic between the two countries, will be discussed during this visit. On the Moroccan side, no official source has so far confirmed this information.
On Tuesday, the Sovereign had received an audience with a delegation composed of Jared Kushner, senior advisor to outgoing US President Donald Trump, Meir Ben-Shabbat, Israel’s national security advisor and Avrahm Joel Berkowitz, special assistant to the President of the United States and special representative for international negotiations. At the end of the meeting, Morocco, the United States and Israel signed a joint declaration. In total, four agreements were also signed between the kingdom and the Hebrew state.
