Morocco Seeks EU Talks to Expand Air Travel as Borders Partially Reopen

By partially opening its borders, Morocco has restricted the flights of its airlines to and from European countries. The kingdom wants to engage in talks with the European Union for a wider opening of its airspace to Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia.
To engage in these negotiations, the head of Moroccan diplomacy is on a mission to the European Union, reports challenge.ma. The objective is to make this community accessible to Moroccans, pending the complete reopening of Moroccan borders.
Two days ago, Morocco announced the reopening of its air and sea borders to all Moroccan citizens (tourists stranded abroad, students or residents abroad and their families) as well as to foreign citizens residing in the Kingdom, from July 15 next... Depending on this border opening, Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia have developed, in collaboration with the Moroccan authorities, a limited number of routes, some of which were already served by these airlines.
For the moment, this special flight program, at the level of the European Union countries, only concerns France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain. Even if Morocco’s borders are opening to certain categories of people on its territory, they cannot for the moment travel to all countries in view of the restrictions of certain member countries of the economic area including Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain and in a way Italy (which requires quarantine for Moroccan passengers).
The same goes for Moroccan citizens (tourists stranded abroad, students or residents abroad and their families) and foreign residents wishing to return to the Kingdom or leave it, Moroccans, who are not yet eligible for these conditions required by the Moroccan authorities. All are impatient to travel freely in the 27 EU countries.
