Morocco Seeks Solutions as Schengen Visa Delays Disrupt Travel Plans

The situation seems more complicated for students and contract workers, who must adhere to a strict schedule.

To this end, the delegate minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nezha El Ouafi, was keen to reassure those concerned that her department is closely monitoring this situation and is seeking to find concrete and urgent solutions with its European partners.

The minister is aware of the slowness of the procedures, especially after the shift from telephone appointment requests to the private companies’ websites.

Several official meetings have been held with the Spanish and French ministers, given that the majority of visas concern these two countries.

Morocco, she said, hopes to put an end to these complications, through joint working groups with Spain and France, especially with regard to study and work visas.
