Morocco Seeks Romanian Sheep Imports to Rebuild National Herd

In its quest to rebuild the national herd, Morocco will import sheep from Romania. This was the focus of a videoconference meeting between Mohamed Sadiki, Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, and his Romanian counterpart, Petre Daea.
In a press release, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) specifies that "the purpose of the meeting was the need for Morocco to import sheep and to strengthen the cooperation relations between the two countries. In this regard, a memorandum of understanding is being drafted between the two states on issues related to foreign trade."
"The two counterparts agreed to intensify efforts to agree on the model of the health-veterinary certificate for live sheep by the health-veterinary authorities of the two states in the near future," the same source adds, stating that a delegation composed of business leaders and government officials from Morocco will visit Romania to concretely open the way to collaboration.
