Morocco Secures Facebook Data Protection Channel for Its Users

An email address has been available since Wednesday, November 27 to receive complaints from Moroccan users of the Facebook group’s networks, related to the protection of their personal data.
Following the meeting in Paris between President Omar Seghrouchni and a representative of the Facebook group on November 5, the Data Protection Authority Casework (DPA Casework) service has been set up by the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).
According to telquel, this service aims to facilitate the processing of requests from Moroccan users regarding the protection of their personal data.
"With this system, when we send a file to Facebook, the promise is to process it quickly and not as if it were a file lost in the mass of requests," clarifies the president of the CNDP, Omar Seghrouchni. According to him, there is no firm commitment regarding the processing time, even if according to the statistics the average is 10 to 15 days.
For now, the Moroccan commission is still awaiting detailed information on the management of the social network’s personal data.
