Morocco Secures Covid-19 Vaccine Deliveries for Coming Months, Aims to Vaccinate 30 Million

Morocco will receive new batches of Covid-19 vaccines in February, March and April next at specific dates, according to the Minister of Health. The kingdom plans to vaccinate a total of 30 million people to achieve herd immunity.
In a statement to the press, Khalid Aït Taleb reassured citizens about the delivery of the next batches of vaccines. For the head of the health department, the ball is now in the court of the Chinese for Sinopharm, and the British-Swedes for AstraZeneca. "We have signed contracts in this regard, so the deliveries are guaranteed," he said.
The minister also mentioned the fierce competition between countries, internationally, regarding the acquisition of these vaccines. The minister also addressed the issue of the vaccination passport. "We want to expand and succeed in vaccination so that every citizen holds a certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization," promised the Minister of Health.
The minister did not fail to pay tribute to King Mohammed VI, for having initiated on Thursday, January 28, 2021, the launch of the national vaccination campaign, by receiving a first injection of an anti-Covid-19 vaccine.
On Friday, January 22 and Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Morocco received respectively two million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 500,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.
