Morocco Screens Over 35,000 for Coronavirus at Borders, Confirms 8 Cases

The Moroccan Ministry of Health states that it has checked more than 35,000 people since the detection of the first case of Coronavirus at the country’s border posts. In this batch, 78 possible cases were detected, including 1 death, 8 confirmed positive cases and 73 declared negative cases.
A battery of preventive measures to counter the Coronavirus, reinforced by a plan. Strengthened controls at land, air and sea borders.
The Ministry of Health informs the public of the availability of a toll-free number and a website for useful information on COVID-19 and preventive measures. The strengthening of the level of preparedness at the borders, with the creation of crisis cells in Moroccan embassies and consulates, the increase in hospital beds, information, education and communication activities in the media and outside the media, are all measures taken by the kingdom.
To this must be added epidemiological monitoring and control, for early detection and care of detected positive cases. These are all precautions to fight against the spread of the virus. Given the measures taken, it is clear that COVID-19 is a major concern for the Moroccan government.
