Morocco Sanctions 167 Insurance Brokers for Regulatory Violations

Some 167 insurance brokers operating in Morocco have been sanctioned for shortcomings, according to the Insurance and Social Welfare Control Authority (ACAPS).
In its 2020 annual report published a few days ago, the ACAPS states that it has sanctioned 49 insurance agents and 18 insurance brokers. Warnings have also been given to 53 insurance agents and 19 insurance brokers, while 18 insurance agents and 8 insurance brokers have received a reprimand.
Among the sanctioned insurance brokers, 13 will have to pay fines.
During the year 2020, the ACAPS received 2,379 complaints, up 24% compared to 2019, when it received 1,915 complaints.
