Morocco’s Salim Amallah Seeks Exit from Standard Liège, Praises National Team Experience

The Moroccan international playing for Standard Liège, Salim Amallah, expressed his pride in wearing the colors of Morocco, evoking, in an interview, his desire to leave his current club.
In an interview with the Belgian daily Le soir, the 25-year-old midfielder discussed his situation at Standard Liège and his choice to play for Morocco, explaining that he is happy to play within the Atlas Lions.
"I’m someone whose facial expression shows whether he’s happy or not. With Morocco, I always have a smile, I take pleasure in playing football. Something I no longer have at Standard! At the moment, it’s difficult to play a match with Standard, it’s not the same as a match with Morocco," he said.
Regarding his future, the Moroccan regrets having extended for one more season, pointing to the poor management of the club’s management. "Personally, I’m already focused on the after, with the national team that will arrive," he stressed, clearly expressing his desire to leave the club, to be a starter elsewhere, in order to give himself a chance to be selected by the national coach, for the World Cup in Qatar.
Salim Amallah is an important element of Vahid Halilhdozic’s team, playing a major role in offensive creation. For him, "the match against Belgium, it’s going to be a nice duel, I can’t wait to be there! I made the right choice to choose Morocco as the national team."
