Morocco to Restart Covid-19 Vaccination Drive with Millions of New Doses

After a few days of pause, the vaccination campaign against Covid-19, which was suffering from a lack of vaccines, will be able to restart. Several million vaccines are expected and the health authorities have started to collect the availability of those who have not yet received the first dose of the vaccine.
Morocco is about to receive several million doses of vaccines to boost the vaccination campaign. According to the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, these new deliveries concern the 12.5 million doses of the British vaccine AstraZeneca, the result of the new agreement concluded after the delay recorded in the production and delivery by the Serum Institute of India (SII) in India.
These doses will arrive at the same time during this month of April, with two million doses of the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm. In addition to these batches, Morocco is also awaiting, during this same month of April, 500,000 doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik-V and the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, provided by the WHO, thanks to the COVAX Mechanism.
Despite the many disruptions, Morocco is still among the ten countries that have, to date, succeeded in vaccinating the largest part of their population against Covid-19. The Kingdom ranks sixth in the global ranking of the most advanced countries in their vaccination campaign against the new coronavirus.
