Morocco Reports Spike in COVID-19 Cases as Health Emergency Nears End

44 new infections with the new coronavirus (covid-19) were recorded this morning in Morocco, according to the Ministry of Health. Unfortunately, the number of cases seems to be on the rise again, just a few days before the end of the state of health emergency.
In detail, it is in the Tanger-Tétouan region that the most infections are counted this Wednesday morning with 16 cases. Then come Casablanca with 14 infections, Marrakech, 13 and the city of Rabat with one infection.
Regarding recoveries, they amount to 233 this morning at 10 a.m. for a total of 6,643 since last March, the date of the first case in Morocco. According to health authorities, 83.98% of Moroccans treated against covid-19 have overcome the disease.
As for the tests, Moroccan hospitals and laboratories have carried out 8,577 tests since yesterday, for a total of 235,362 since the start of the epidemic. Morocco seems to be accelerating the number of tests as June 10, the date of the end of the state of emergency, approaches. Even if the number of cases continues to increase, it will be very difficult for the authorities to accept a new extension.
