Morocco Reports Single COVID-19 Death as Cases Surge in Tangier and Marrakech Regions

Only one death from the coronavirus was recorded in Morocco on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health. The total number of deaths due to covid-19 is now 256 since the beginning of the pandemic.
To date, the fatality rate is 1.6%, one of the lowest in the world. Yesterday, Monday, July 13, 5 patients succumbed to the coronavirus in the country.
Morocco has just exceeded 16,000 covid-19 infections. In detail, 9 regions have been affected by the new infections. These are Tanger Tetouan Al Hoceima which has 53 cases, followed by Marrakech Safi (+27), Casablanca-Settat (+17), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (+6) and the Oriental (+2).
Souss-Massa, Guelmim Oued Noun, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Fès-Meknès each have one case.
