Morocco Reports Over 13,700 Active COVID-19 Cases in January, Vaccination Campaign Underway

Morocco ends the first month of the year with more than 13,700 active cases, according to the updated data from the Ministry of Health. In the last 24 hours, 466 new infections and 16 new deaths have been recorded.
According to the Ministry of Health, Morocco recorded 13,722 active coronavirus cases during the month of January. In the last 24 hours, 16 new deaths have been recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 8,275 since the beginning of the pandemic.
To date, Morocco has 471,157 cumulative cases, of which 449,160 have recovered.
The national Covid-19 vaccination campaign, launched on Friday, January 29, has already allowed more than 90,000 Moroccans to be immunized. In total, 1.25 million target people, including those aged 75 and over, teaching staff, healthcare workers and the military, are concerned by this first wave.
