A first case of coronavirus infection in a pregnant woman was reported in Morocco on Wednesday, March 25, at the Ibn Sina hospital in Rabat.
In her sixth month of pregnancy, the woman, who had begun to feel some flu-like symptoms, was quickly taken care of in the obstetrics department of the hospital.
The COVID-19 victim received special care from the medical staff to avoid complications for the fetus, knowing that little is known about the possibility of transmission from mother to fetus.
However, this hypothesis had been confirmed by the doctors in Wuhan, when a child born to an infected woman had tested positive a few hours after birth on February 2.
