Morocco Reports First Monkeypox Case, Patient Stable in Marrakech

Morocco has just recorded its first case of monkeypox, according to an announcement made by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The patient, cared for in a specialized medical center in Marrakech, is currently in a stable condition and does not present any complications.
The Moroccan health authorities have reacted quickly by activating the necessary isolation and medical follow-up procedures. Epidemiological investigations are also underway to identify the people who have been in contact with the patient and take the appropriate preventive measures.
The Ministry of Health has sought to reassure Moroccans, specifying that the case was detected as part of the health protocol put in place in Morocco since the beginning of the global health alert. It also calls on citizens to rely on official sources of information and to comply with the recommended hygiene measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
