Morocco Reports First Coronavirus Cases in Western Sahara Region

The Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday two cases of infection in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region.
Since the announcement of the 1st case of covid-19 in Morocco, this region has been spared, like the Dakhla region. Its two positive cases were recorded while the most affected region is approaching the 200-patient mark.
With these new figures, the Casa-Settat region remains the most affected (179 cases), followed by Marrakech Safi (115), Rabat Salé Kenitra (111), Fès-Meknes (110), Tanger Tetouan Al Hoceima (44), the Oriental (26), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (20), Souss-Massa (17), Daraa-tafilalet (13) and Guelmim Oued Noun (1).
As for the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region, it remains free of contamination by this virus, which has caused 37 deaths.
To date, Morocco has 638 cases of contamination, including 26 recovered patients.
