Morocco Reports First Coronavirus Case, Implements Preparedness Measures

Since Monday, March 2, 2020, Morocco has recorded its first confirmed case of the new coronavirus. The country is facing it with serenity.
Morocco is prepared to effectively manage this first case. This is evidenced by the measures implemented for better resilience against the coronavirus. In addition to strengthening medical controls at the borders, the country has equipped the various hospital centers, dedicated solely to possible epidemic cases, with 670 beds. Likewise, preventive measures (medical masks, information on the signs of the disease, its modes of transmission, the most vulnerable people, the establishment of useful toll-free numbers...) have been taken to prevent the spread of the virus.
On Monday, the very first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Morocco. It is a 39-year-old Moroccan, coming from Bergamo in Italy. Diagnosed by the Pasteur-Maroc Institute, he was placed in isolation in a hospital in Casablanca. "His condition is stable and does not give cause for concern," reassures the Ministry of Health, in a press release.
