Morocco Reports 68 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Infections Rise to 8,071

Some 68 new coronavirus infections were recorded this Friday, June 5 in Morocco, bringing the total number since last March to 8,071.
These new infections were recorded in five regions: Marrakech-Safi has 31 infections in a single day. It is followed by Casablanca-Settat with 18 contaminations. Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma records 8 contaminations against 6 for the Oriental. In Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, only five people were infected during this Friday.
73 new recoveries were recorded while the number of deaths has stabilized at 208 cases since yesterday. With these figures, Morocco now has 90% of recovered cases since March 2, the date of the first Covid-19 case.
Moreover, the kingdom has carried out 14,271 tests to date, the highest figure since last March. To try to curb the advance of the virus, an expert from the African Union has recommended that African countries triple their screening tests.
