Morocco Reports 45 New COVID-19 Cases, Recovery Rate Rises to 64%

Morocco recorded 45 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours. The kingdom now has 7,532 cases.
Three regions are affected by these 45 new confirmed cases. These are Casablanca-Settat (+37), Marrakech-Safi (+5) and Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (+1). The 9 other regions did not record any new cases.
After a few days of declining recovery cases, they are on the rise again this Tuesday, May 26, 2020. The number of cases stood at 107 today, bringing the number of recoveries to 4,881 for a rate of 64.42%. According to the Ministry of Health, two deaths were recorded, bringing the number of deceased to 202, or a rate of 2.67%.
Meanwhile, 2,494 cases are still under treatment in Morocco (32.92%) while 153,788 cases have been ruled out following negative tests.
For the Director of Epidemiology, Mohammed El Youbi, the covid-19 reproduction rate across the kingdom has recorded a slight decrease. This rate has fallen to 0.75, below the limit set at 1, even if it is uneven in places. Today, it is still the Casablanca region that poses a problem and in these conditions, it will be impossible for the authorities to authorize deconfinement on June 10.
