Morocco Reports 80 New COVID-19 Cases, Delaying Easing of Restrictions

80 new infections were recorded this Saturday, June 6 in Morocco, mainly in the Casablanca region, according to the Ministry of Health.
In detail, the report from the health authorities shows 46 cases discovered in Casablanca and its region, 14 new infections in the Tanger-Tétouan regions, 12 in Marrakech-Safi, 5 in Rabat-Salé, 2 in Fès-Méknès and a single case in the Oriental.
The figures revealed today at 6 p.m. also show the maintenance of a high number of tests carried out on contact cases. Since last night, the health authorities have carried out 14,028 tests in the various hospitals and laboratories of the kingdom.
In addition, the Ministry of Health reports 47 recoveries in the last 24 hours and 688 people still under treatment (33 more today).
It should be noted that with these new figures, it will be very difficult for the government to lift the state of health emergency and end the confinement, which is becoming less and less tolerated by Moroccans.
