Morocco Reports 135 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Infections Rise to 8,437

The Ministry of Health announced, this Tuesday at 6 p.m., the recording of 135 new cases of coronavirus. The total number of infections in Morocco stands at 8,437, since the appearance of the first case of covid-19.
In detail, these new infections were recorded in five regions. Casablanca-Settat alone has 79 infected people against 35 for Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima. Marrakech-Safi, Fès-Meknès and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra have 15, 4 and 2 infections respectively.
85 new recoveries were recorded on Tuesday against 2 deaths. As for the cases under treatment, they amount to 734. In addition, Morocco has excluded a total of 331,134 cases since March 1, 2020.
To try to curb the spread of the virus in the country, the authorities have decided to extend the state of emergency for one month. As for deconfinement, it will be gradual and should first concern the regions least affected by the virus.
