Morocco Repatriates Over 900 Citizens Stranded Abroad Due to COVID-19

The repatriation of Moroccans stranded abroad due to the closure of borders because of covid-19 continues. On Friday, 917 people of all ages, transported via six flights, set foot on Moroccan soil, at Marrakech-Menara International Airport.
Coming from the United Kingdom (one flight), France (three flights), the Netherlands (one flight), Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal (one flight), the Moroccans stranded abroad were repatriated by Royal Air Maroc (RAM), in compliance with the current health measures and protocol, it is indicated.
They then completed customs formalities at the airport following health precautions: protective masks, physical distancing and hand disinfection with hydroalcoholic gel.
According to the health protocol in force in Morocco, they will subsequently be quarantined for 14 days after undergoing covid-19 screening tests.
In total, 4,644 Moroccans stranded in 17 countries have been repatriated between June 21 and 27 through 30 flights.
