Morocco Repatriates Citizens Stranded in Japan Since COVID-19 Border Closure

After several months of uncertainty and economic hardship, Moroccans stranded in Japan have finally been repatriated.
This group, which left from Narita International Airport, is made up of "executives who went to the country for a short-term training," and several citizens who came to visit Japan before "the suspension of air links and the closure of borders that occurred in March," due to covid-19.
It is the Moroccan embassy in Japan that has taken care of the accommodation, health care, as well as the transportation costs to the airport of this last group. Before these Moroccans who left Japan on Tuesday evening, a first group composed of people suffering from illnesses had already left Japan.
According to the statements in parliament by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, "this week will be marked by the second stage of repatriation," and the countries concerned are Germany, Egypt, the Gulf countries and Turkey, and many others. He also specified that from now on, "Morocco will use 100% of the capacity of the planes," indicates the same source.
