Morocco Repatriates 103 Citizens from Turkey Amid Ongoing Evacuation Efforts

The operation to repatriate Moroccans stranded abroad continues. 103 compatriots returned to their country on Thursday, June 16, from Turkey, on a Royal Air Maroc flight.
These arrivals come after the repatriation of a first group of 313 people on Wednesday, June 17. This batch of 103 people who arrived from Istanbul at Tanger Saniat R’mel airport includes children, babies and the elderly. According to the authorities in charge of this operation, these operations will continue in the coming days.
According to the director of Tétouan Saniat R’mel airport, Hassan Limouni, the plane of these repatriated nationals landed on Thursday evening at 7:40 p.m. in safe and healthy conditions set up by the National Airports Office and the airport.
According to him, the beneficiaries of this repatriation operation changed their protective masks on arrival, disinfected their hands, and underwent temperature checks using thermal cameras. He also adds that the luggage recovery was smooth, respecting the social distancing instructions.
These repatriates then boarded buses to hotels located on the Tamuda Bay coast under the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq, where they underwent Covid-19 screening tests and will be quarantined according to the health procedures in force and in the best conditions, specifies the airport director.
For Hassan Limouni, all repatriation operations follow the same health protocol, with screening tests for the virus on arrival and a nine-day quarantine as part of the necessary medical follow-up, in order to ensure that these people will not pose a danger to themselves or their families and neighbors.
