Morocco Repatriates 2,000 Citizens Stranded Abroad Due to Pandemic

The repatriation operations launched since mid-June are continuing. 2,000 Moroccans are back in the country after being blocked abroad for more than 3 months.
In a press release published on Thursday, the department of Nasser Bourita provided an update on the repatriations carried out on board Royal Air Maroc (RAM). 313 Moroccans were repatriated on Tuesday, June 17, from Turkey on 3 chartered planes.
According to the press release, the beneficiaries of this operation were selected based on specific and well-defined criteria, like their compatriots repatriated from Ceuta, Melilla, Algeria and Spain over the past two weeks. Priority was given to elderly compatriots, children, the sick and people with short-term visas.
Upon disembarking, all the people, wearing their masks, underwent screening tests before being taken to the hotel establishments reserved for their quarantine. At the end of this operation, they will be able to return home and reunite with their families.
