Morocco Reopens Borders for Air and Sea Travel, Excludes Spanish Routes

From July 15, Moroccan citizens, Moroccans residing abroad, as well as foreign residents, will be able to enter and leave the kingdom, only by air and sea.
The national airlines will be made available to travelers and "flights will be scheduled as much as possible for the success of this operation", the government said in a statement published on Wednesday by the MAP.
The ferries will be chartered exclusively from the ports of Sète (France) and Genoa (Italy), two of the eleven maritime routes selected by the Ministry of Transport for the operation, which will be coordinated by the National Ports Agency of Morocco (ANP).
Ceuta, Melilla and the ports of the peninsula, including that of Algeciras, are not on this list, notes El Español, thus confirming the information published by some sources in April indicating that "the land borders with Ceuta and Melilla will remain closed at least until the end of September".
Spain has included Morocco in the list of countries with which it has opened its borders on the recommendation of the European Union (EU), pending Morocco’s decision to open its own.
In any case, Morocco imposes strict health measures. Travelers must present a PCR test performed in the last 48 hours and will have to undergo a serological test before boarding.
The Minister of Health, Khaled Ait Al-Taleb, announced in a circular dated July 6 that the mandatory quarantine in hotels upon entry into the country would not be necessary, and repatriated Moroccans will be able to observe the quarantine at home.
Persons who test positive will be hospitalized and those who have been in contact with an infected person will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days in hotels.
