Morocco Reopens Beaches with Strict COVID-19 Safety Measures

As part of the second phase of deconfinement, which comes into effect on Thursday, the Moroccan authorities have issued the measures that will govern the official reopening of the beaches.
Moroccan beaches are accessible to the public again from June 25. This derogation will, however, be accompanied by drastic measures that the walis and governors are required to enforce, to limit any risk of coronavirus spread.
To this end, the announced measures for the time being are as follows:
• the beach opening hours have been defined as follows: opening from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Respect a distance of 6 meters between the parasols
• The rental of parasols is prohibited
Knowing that the respect of social distancing remains imperative, the note from the authorities does not specify, however, whether sports or other activities are authorized.
