Morocco Reopens Air Borders: New Entry Requirements for Travelers

Morocco will reopen its air borders starting tomorrow, Monday, February 7, 2022. What are the entry and exit conditions?

According to the new health protocol, the traveler (18 years and older) must provide several documents to access Moroccan territory. Before boarding, they must present a health form to be downloaded online (also distributed on board the plane), duly completed, a Covid-19 vaccination passport, and a negative PCR test less than 48 hours old (time between sampling and registration). Upon arrival, the traveler must undergo a systematic rapid antigen test at the entry points and random PCR tests are planned.

If the person tested positive is asymptomatic or has a mild condition, they will have to follow a self-isolation treatment at home or in a hotel if they are a tourist. If the person has moderate symptoms, they will be hospitalized, in the public or private sector. As for children under 6 years old, they will not be subject to any conditions. Travelers aged 6 to 18 must present a negative PCR test less than 48 hours old and a rapid antigen test upon arrival.

As for the exit conditions? To leave the national territory, the traveler must have a valid vaccination passport: a vaccination passport confirming the receipt of the 3rd dose or a vaccination passport confirming the receipt of the 2nd dose (or the single dose of J&J with a period of less than 4 months). Passengers who have only had two doses (or the single dose of J&J) for more than 4 months and have contracted Covid-19 less than 28 days ago, must present, in addition to their vaccination passport, a PCR or rapid antigen test result proving that the person was ill, as well as a medical certificate of recovery or a negative PCR test.
